Doctors Manitoba invites you to attend the workshop titled “Crucial Conversations”. The workshop will be held in Winnipeg on November 7-8, 2015 and is part of the Physician Leadership Institute (PMI) operated by the Canadian Medical Association.
As a physician leader, much of your time is spent interacting with others to achieve desired outcomes. When communication is both candid and respectful, it allows all perspectives and issues to surface and leads to the best decisions or direction. On some issues, differences of opinion are significant, the stakes are high in terms of the outcomes and strong emotions are involved. These require Crucial Conversations (CCV). Research by VitalSmarts identified a key difference between good and great leaders: great leaders achieve results even when the issue or conversation is “crucial.” CCV helps you master the skills you need to step up to high-stakes issues, while remaining candid and respectful, to achieve better results and establish better relationships. Unique to this offering is that this CCV course is taught by trained physician faculty members of the Canadian Society of Physician Executives.
